Amelia Westensee was the first baby born at Rogue Valley Medical Center in 2012. Parents are Brandie Lilya and David Westensee of Central Point, Oregon. Amelia, who is their first baby, was born at 11:19 a.m. on New Year's Day, weighed 5 lbs., and measured 17 and 3/4 inches. Amelia was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit, but Mother and baby were both doing well. "Everything is really good," said Brandie.
The hospital auxiliary presented the baby and couple with a gift basket that included a handmade Christmas stocking made by the auxiliary sewing committee and a handmade quilt made by a volunteer.
The staff of the Family Birth Center also presented the family with a basket of treats to celebrate the birth of their baby.
