She fixed it with surgery by James Van Horne, MD, at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass, Oregon. “The whole point of knee and hip replacements is to allow patients to return to most of their regular activities with 85 to 90 percent less pain and remain independent in their own homes,” Dr. Van Horne explains.

    There is more to recovering from heart disease than just getting surgery. That’s why Alicia Russell, RN, cardiac rehabilitation, is starting a cardiac support group at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. The group will meet at 3 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month starting February 16.

  • Rays Food Place Donates $3,599 1/7/2012

    C&K Markets (Rays) on Williams Highway in Grants Pass donated $3,599.69 to the Connie Fiske Fund for breast cancer screenings and mammograms on Thursday, January 5. Thanks to this generous donation, approximately 40 women who otherwise could not afford it will be able to get mammograms at Three Rivers Women’s Imaging in Grants Pass.

  • First Baby of 2012 in Josephine County Born at TRCH 1/2/2012

    Tavita Fa’alataitaua Reid-Jessen was the first baby of the New Year in Josephine County. He was born to Salamasina Reid-Jessen, 35, and David Jessen, 40, at Three Rivers Community Hospital at 11:43 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

  • Better Breathers Available in Grants Pass for People with Respiratory Ailments 10/26/2011

    People with pulmonary disease such as COPD can breathe better, especially if they participate in the Better Breathers Club, which is available in Grants Pass through a sponsorship by Three Rivers Community Hospital and The American Lung Association of Oregon. Better Breathers meets the second Wednesday of every month from 1 to 2 p.m. Call 541-472-7854.

  • Auxiliaries Make Generous Donations... 6/16/2011

    The auxiliaries of Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Oregon, and Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass, Oregon, will make large donations to both hospitals in June 2011. The Rogue Valley Medical Center Auxiliary will present the Asante Foundation with a check for $100,000 in support of the Rogue Valley Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) expansion project. The Three Rivers Community Hospital Auxiliary will present the Asante Foundation with a check for $48,000 to fund three vein viewers, devices that sense the location of a patient’s veins and then projects a map of them on the patient’s skin so a nurse or lab tech can insert a needle with greater safety and accuracy.
