Electro-Neurodiagnostic Tests
Electroencephalogram (EEG)
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a painless test used to measure the brain's electrical activity. Electrodes are placed on the head and connected by wires to a computer. These detect and record brain waves on screen or on paper. An EEG can help diagnose seizures, sleep disorders, dementia and other neurological conditions.
Electronystagmogram (ENG)
An electronystagmogram (ENG) measures eye movements and how well the eyes, inner ears and brain work together to keep a person in balance. Electrodes are placed near the eyes to record eye movements. A visual illustration of the data is printed on graph paper. ENG tests are used to determine the cause of dizziness, loss of balance or vertigo.
