Your Room
Designed for Comfort
We provide private and semiprivate rooms, which are based on availability. Every effort is made to accommodate requests made by you and your physician. Our Guest Services Department is here to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you have any questions concerning the condition of your room, such as temperature or cleanliness, call Guest Services at 541-472-7000.
Your Bed
Your bed is easily operated with an electronic panel located on the side rail. For your safety the side rails should be up if you've received anesthesia or medication that may affect your senses. Please ask a staff member for assistance if you need help operating your bed. The nurse call button and the TV channel selector and volume control are located on your bed paddle.
Emergency Pull Cord
The bathroom in each patient room has an emergency pull cord to notify the nursing staff that you require assistance.
Calling a Nurse
You will be shown how to operate your nurse call and TV controls when you are admitted to the hospital. Let us know if you are hot or cold, hungry or thirsty, uncomfortable, experiencing pain, short of breath, having trouble sleeping, needing assistance getting out of bed, or bothered by anything else. Please call a staff member to assist you whenever you need help. We want to be sure that you are safe and comfortable.
Telephones and Cell Phones
You may make free local calls to the Grants Pass and Medford areas from your patient room phone. To place a local call to either area, dial 9 and then the seven-digit phone number. Long-distance calls made collect, with calling cards, or billed to a third party must use our operator-assisted service: dial 8 and listen for the voice prompts. Courtesy phones are located throughout the facility. Use the same procedures as for patient room phones. Cell phone use is permitted in the admitting and waiting areas, the cafeteria, and the common hallways away from patient rooms only. Cell phone calls are not permitted in patient care areas.
Receiving Calls
We want you to keep in touch with your family and friends. If they reside in the Grants Pass area, please have them call 541-472-7000. From outside the area, they can call toll-free 1-800-944-7073 to our switchboard at RVMC. They will be transferred to TRCH. They need to ask for you by name; if they have the room number, it is very helpful. They will then be connected to your room.
What's on Television?
The handset at your bedside serves as your television remote. The button with the TV icon turns on the television. Press the same button to change the channels, and hold the button down for several seconds to turn off the television. Ask your nurse for this weeks TV guide for local television schedules.
