Asante Ashland Community Hospital Wound Care Center Recognized with National Award for Clinical Excellence

Hyperbaric Chamber for Wound Care

The physicians, clinicians, and staff of the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Asante Ashland Community Hospital recently earned the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The wound center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction over 92 percent, a minimum 91 percent wound healing rate within 30 median days to heal, and other quality outcomes. Out of 511 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, only 157 achieved the honor.

“This is the fourth time in five years that our center has been honored with this award,” said Yvonne Fried, MD, medical director of the wound center. “We are very proud of the work that we do for our patients.”

The wound center is a member of the Healogics Network of over 550 centers, which provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating over two million chronic wounds.

Staff and physicians are dedicated to offering comprehensive, advanced treatment for chronic, non-healing wounds. They identify the specific causes of wound conditions and implement a treatment plan tailored to each individual patient. The center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced treatments include the only hyperbaric oxygen therapy service in Southern Oregon, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
