Three Asante Projects Earn LEED Certifications

Asante the Regional Leader in Energy and Environmental Design

Women's Center Grants Pass

Women's Center, Grants Pass, earned LEED Silver

Three Asante projects recently earned LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification. The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings that are designed, constructed and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

The Asante Real Estate and Sustainable Planning Office and the Asante Physician Partners Administrative Office in Medford earned LEED Gold, the Women’s Center in Grants Pass earned LEED Silver, and Phase III of the Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center NICU earned LEED Certified.*

Asante worked in collaboration with Green Building Services, TVA Architects, HealthLab Planning and Architecture, as well as the construction teams of Adroit Construction and R.A. Murphy Construction to document green strategies for certification through the LEED green building rating system.

Asante has made a long-term commitment to make all construction and renovation projects meet green building design standards and earn LEED certification. Today, Asante is the regional leader in green construction with six total projects earning LEED certification: NICU Phase I and Phase II, Creekside Laboratory, NICU Phase III, the Women’s Center, and the Asante Real Estate and Sustainable Planning and the Asante Physician Partners administrative offices.

In 2009, Asante made a commitment to pursue sustainability in its operations and new construction. Asante is committed to supporting healthcare’s fundamental mission to protect and enhance individual and community health. We understand the intrinsic relationship between the built environment, ecologic health and patient health. Acting upon these beliefs, Asante strives to make a high performance project with healing environments centered upon the patient experience.

Asante’s projects achieved LEED certification for implementing best-in-class building strategies and practices.  LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health: Sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. Each of the three projects most recently certified demonstrated water and energy savings as well as providing healthy interior environments. Projects also take advantage of opportunities unique to their particular site.  For example, The Women’s Center in Grants Pass, landscape design takes cues and inspiration from the surrounding environment of the awe-inspiring Rogue Valley. Rather than diverting rainwater offsite, a thoughtful design instead celebrates water in the rain gardens and swales. Accordingly pathways and benches offer visitors’ opportunities to enjoy and witness this process in action.

Here are some of the highlights for the current Asante certifications.
