Employee Moment: Sean Connolly, ITS
I'm a Canadian and I've worked in IT for over 15 years. I married into Asante as my mother in-law is a hospice nurse at Asante. I love helping people and working with computers, alleviating their related frustrations. I was already supporting clinical environments up in Canada helping nurses in various care facilities.
My mother in-law said I should work for Asante. I liked the idea but we were living in Canada and I wasn't sure about leaving. Later we discussed immigrating to the U.S. They were willing to sponsor me and again said that I should try finding a role at the Asante Help Desk as I would fit right in. She talked extensively about the Help Desk and how dedicated they had been to get her assistance for issues over the years.
That convinced me. I wanted to be around people like that! We completed the paperwork and immigrated in 2011. Six months later an opening came up on the Help Desk and I was immediately queued for an interview and was offer a position. I've had a great time helping out all the great doctors, nurses, and fellow ITS staff. I will continue to do my best to support all the terrific people I have a deep respect for here.
