NRP is a course developed the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics to standardize health care providers’ knowledge and skills that are necessary to care for stressed or sick newborns. The content presented in this program follows the standards from the 6th Edition NRP textbook. Simulation has been recognized as one of the most effective methods for adult learners, therefore the majority of the course format will be in informal group case simulation, demonstration, and debriefing discussions. The course facilitators role is to enhance learning while decreasing the participant’s stress.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the NRP the participant will be able to:
• Apply the concepts of neonatal resuscitation to simulated scenarios.
• Participate in simulated scenarios and debriefing, identifying opportunities for improving care.
• Understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration for an optimal neonatal resuscitation.
