Broken Open | Staying Strong
On Being a Compassionate Healthcare Provider

Our work can be heartbreaking. The breathtaking, cumulative suffering that we witness, week after week, year after year, can take its toll on our souls. Some of us will eventually burnout. But perhaps the work we do can actually help us to grow by breaking-open our hearts to the suffering of our patients. Then, as wounded healers, we can discover our own
resilience and capacity to thrive.

This workshop will teach participants specific strategies for nurturing their compassionate hearts, even as they work in the trenches each and every day.

Robert Zucker, MA, LCSW, FT, is the author of The Journey through Grief and

The Journey Through Grief and Loss - Helping Yourself and Your Child When Grief Is Shared

Loss: Helping Yourself and Your Child When Grief Is Shared (St. Martin’s Press, 2009). A grief counselor for more than 25 years, he is currently coordinator of bereavement at Mercy Hospice in West Springfield, Massachusetts, and maintains a private grief counseling practice. Rob has led hundreds of workshops and keynotes across the United States as well as in Canada and Europe.

There is no fee, but donations are welcome.
