Special Programs for Infants and Children

Children are not just “little adults.” They often require specialized equipment and treatment that CMN funds help to support. In our pediatric programs, medical excellence, state-of-the-art technology, and prevention are key. In all, 18 departments or community-based programs receive CMN support. They include:

  • Specially trained neonatal transport teams that convey at-risk newborns to the NICU from throughout our nine-county referral region.
  • Asante Child Development Services, providing assessment and/or educational services for more than 1,000 children annually.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), a region-wide training program that creates a team to provide immediate and seamless treatment for critically ill or injured children throughout the referral region.
  • Our Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic (for women with problem pregnancies) - the only one between Sacramento and Eugene.
  • The Jackson County Child Safety Seat Program providing infant and toddler safety seats to low-income families and safety seat inspection clinics.
  • Our Cuddlers program that trains volunteers to work with babies in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit.
  • The Family Birth Centers at RVMC and Three Rivers Community Hospital (TRCH).
  • Pediatric equipment for the Emergency Department at TRCH.
