Current positions: Director of Residency & Pharmacy Practice, Asante Health System, Medford, Oregon.

Practice achievements:  Dr. Sanchez is a leader in the promotion of pharmacy practice advancement and residency training.  She has actively implemented and expanded programs that deliver advanced clinical care, improve safety, and optimize medication-related outcomes.  Dr. Sanchez developed and grew a residency program, crafting training opportunities and facilitating preceptors’ development as educators and leaders.  She holds Adjust Clinical Faculty status with Pacific University School of Pharmacy.  She has held Adjunct Clinical Faculty positions with the University of Florida, Mercer, Auburn, University of Georgia, and Oregon Health and Sciences University. She currently holds the treasurer position on the board of directors planning the Western States Conference for Residents, Fellows and Preceptors.  She is active in the Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists, previously serving as the Southern Chapter Chair, and annually coordinating the southern residents’ project presentations, routinely speaking at meetings, and sharing successes through poster presentations for which she has received several awards.  Dr. Sanchez remains active with American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) where she currently serves as invited faculty on the ASHP Foundation’s Pharmacy Leadership Academy.  She has published in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacists (AJHP), spoken at ASHP Mid-Year Clinical meeting, and consistently presented projects at poster presentations. The ASHP honored Dr. Sanchez and the Asante team with the Best Practice Award for pioneering work in medication therapy management in 2014. Dr. Sanchez is a Baldrige examiner surveying for Performance Excellence Northwest.  She is active in local community service including the Children’s Miracle Network fundraising events, Southern Oregon Music Festival, Camelot Theater, and the Arthritis Foundation.
