Chucky Akanegbu, ARRMC PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Chucky is from Easton, Massachusetts a small town about 45 minutes south of Boston. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island, Dual PharmD/MS in Health Outcomes. What drew him to this program is Asante’s unwavering dedication to compassionate care and community service.  Also, that the residency program features evidence-based practice, diversified clinical rotations and flexibility in the longitudinal leadership projects. Chucky’s primary interest is Oncology; after completing this residency year he would like to pursue a post-graduate year two residency in Oncology. Chucky likes to spend his time outdoors as much as he can and is looking forward to the many hiking trails Southern Oregon has to offer.

Lexi Arledge, ARRMC PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Lexi grew up in Washington state and moved to Utah for pharmacy school. Lexi earned her PharmD at Roseman University, Utah. Lexi was first attracted to Asante’s beautiful settings and strong learning opportunities across different sites.  Asante boasts a “sweet” spot for professional growth: big enough to offer broad clinical experiences but not overwhelming in process as to make one feel like a cog in a machine. Lexi has an interest in Critical Care and Informatics and is looking forward to those rotations the most. After residency Lexi would like to continue working in a hospital setting ideally in Oregon or the Pacific Northwest. In her free time Lexi enjoys outdoor activities, playing music, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Stephanie Orozco, ARRMC PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Stephanie is from San Bernadino, CA and earned her PharmD at Western University of Health Sciences. Stephanie chose Asante’s residency program because of the clear commitment to patient care and the innovative technology to meet those needs particularly for patients at the at Heimann and Spears Cancer Centers. Stephanie has an interest in Oncology and Women’s Health she is passionate about partnering with others to close the gaps in care and ensuring patients have access to the services they need. Stephanie is also considering specializing and may be looking to complete a PGY2 in Oncology. In her free time Sephanie loves to go thrifting and is excited to discover new treasures in Southern Oregon.

Nhat Vu, ARRMC PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Nhat is originally from Vietnam but has been living in Portland, OR for the past 14 years. Nhat earned his PharmD from OSU/OHSU.

Nhat was drawn to the diverse range of rotations Asante’s residency program has to offer, the cohort size was the right balance, and that Asante’s consistent recognition as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States highlights its dedication to exceptional patient care and operational efficiency.  Nhat’s areas of interest are Critical Care and Emergency Medicine and is looking forward to those rotations.  After residency year he would like to secure a clinical position in a hospital setting.  In is free time Nhat enjoys hiking, watching soccer, and playing video games.

Heenaben Patel, ATRMC PGY1 Pharmacy Resident

Heena is originally from Winston, OR. Heena earned her PharmD from Pacific University.  Heena has a strong interest in infectious diseases and informatics both of which could be areas to consider for a PGY2 after completing her PGY1 at ATRMC. Heena is passionate about working with rural and underserved populations and being able to provide access to quality care that they deserve. Heena is excited to continue her career and grow as a compassionate healthcare professional at ATRMC. Outside of the pharmacy-residency world Heena thoroughly enjoys her time napping or hanging out with friends.
