Post Graduate Year One Program (PGY-1)

Asante offers a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency in Grants Pass, Oregon with the main training site at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. Asante is a not-for-profit health system which serves over 600,000 residents in Southern Oregon and Northern California.

Purpose

Asante Three River's PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency builds on Doctor of Pharmacy education to prepare clinical pharmacists to provide medication-related care to patients with a wide range of conditions, especially those in hospitals <200 beds among which we strive to be a center of excellence.  Asante Three Rivers is the sole full-service, acute-care hospital for a two county region that collectively constitutes the most economically challenged population in Oregon.  Asante Three Rivers is a disproportionate-share facility utilizing 340b savings to support patient-focused services and certifications including including Level III Trauma (second busiest in Oregon), Stroke Certified, and WHO Baby Friendly.  Graduates will be ready to achieve board certification and eligible for postgraduate year 2 (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training.
