Myth Busters

Summer Sunshine in OregonDoes it rain a lot in Southern Oregon?

Medford gets only 23 inches of rain per year compared to the US average of 38 inches of rain per year. However, we are still waiting for someone to go outside and manually measure this one themselves! Not it!!

BigfootDoes Bigfoot live around these parts?

You can feel safe roaming the outdoors here! We are pretty certain we saw Bigfoot pack up and head to Washington!

Oregon StateWhat is the correct pronunciation of "Oregon"?

We won't hold it against you if you learned to pronounce it as "Ore-gawn". The locals insist the correct pronunciation is "OR-eh-g-in."

Mountain Biking in the ForestAre all Oregonians obsessed with nature?

The natural beauty is undeniable here. It won't take long for you to fall in love with our lush forests, serene rivers and majestic mountains too.

Stylish Socks and SandalsIs it a faux pas to wear socks with sandals in Oregon?

Not at all! The culture in Oregon openly accepts people who enjoy wearing socks with sandals. Whether you are a traditionalist who hikes with white socks and sandals or a fashionista who sets the trend with colorful sock designs, we support you!
