Dr. Ali was born and raised in Bombay (Mumbai), India. He attended Medical School at the Assam Medical College, graduating with an MD degree in 1990. Following his medical degree in Assam, he completed a 1-year residency in Ophthalmology; then returned to Bombay where he underwent 3 years training in Internal Medicine.
In 1995, Dr. Ali did a medical internship in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1997, he moved to Boston where he did his Neurology residency through Tufts University at the New England Medical Center, completing his residency there in 2000.
Following this residency, he went on for specialized training in Neuromuscular diseases and the diagnosis of neuromuscular conditions through nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG), receiving his fellowship in Burlington, Vermont at the University of Vermont in 2001. During his fellowship there, he also held a staff position at the University of Vermont.
In 2001, he moved to Schenectady, New York where he began his private practice in Neurology, joining in a group practice as well as serving as a consulting Neurologist with several local hospitals. While in upstate New York, he affiliated with Albany Medical College as a clinical assistant professor.
In 2004, Dr. Ali moved to Ashland, Oregon, where he has practiced general Neurology as well as specializing in Neuromuscular diseases. He also serves as a staff Neurologist at Asante Ashland Community Hospital.
