I have forgotten the male receptionist's name. When I was there a couple of months ago for [ ], and somehow the fact that I was there did not get to the back (nurse) I asked him if I could at least get back to a room to lie down (I had been there for 45 minutes and there were no other patients in sight) he went back and informed them. He was apologetic for not realizing I was still there, practically passing out. I have seen and talked to him on the phone several times and he definitely deserves a KUDOS!

I find the health care team to be super responsive. I also found the care through Dr. Digg's team to be excellent when she was away on vacation. The other doctors called me and followed up with necessary steps for me to take during a health crisis.

At the office, there are two Emilys, both of whom excel in their roles. One is at the front desk, and the other is Dr. Diggs' M.A. They are both outstanding in their respective positions, combining deep knowledge with genuine kindness. Emily at the front desk is exceptional in her role. From the moment I arrive, she greets me by name and maintains eye contact throughout our interaction. She always inquires about how I'm feeling, and her concern feels sincere, not just a routine part of her job. Even though she might not have detailed knowledge of my condition, her genuine care is evident. Emily, Dr. Diggs' assistant, is the epitome of professionalism. She meticulously handles the task of taking my vitals while being attentive to the reason for my visit. Her ability to remember details and her consistent eye contact provide great comfort. Every time I see a provider at this office I have to wait 45 minutes to an hour to be seen which makes it very difficult for me to keep my appointments.

Dr. Diggs truly listened to my situation and concerns and provided some education to put me at ease. We spent most of the appointment talking about the repercussions of my hip replacement surgery. She offered to schedule another appointment for an annual exam and I was able to get on her schedule within a few weeks which I was really pleased about. I am so happy with her approach that I recommended my daughter switch over to her and she did so last week and And was really thrilled with her appointment as well. In the last month, I had an inflammation centered around a pore on my neck...a cutaneous abscess. Jenna Diggs office didn't have an opening to see me but the Asante scheduler found an opening at the Black Oak Asante urgent care office. I was appreciative that there was an alternative caregiver to see for this abscess. It was taken care of in a day or two. I am still getting to know Jenna Diggs as I only seen her primarily for yearly visits. My health has been excellent so I haven't needed much care beyond vaccinations and yearly check ups.

I am hopeful that someday I will be called by my preferred name “[name]” not “[name] (which is my ex husband’s name I have pirated to match my kids systemically….but will be legally changing soon to care for my own health, reputation, and integrity). Also, considering that “stress related to medical care and implicit bias from providers” might be the reason it’s challenging to receive care, not so much “finding time while being a single mom” is important to me, also understanding how trauma history (mental health) has/and is currently impacting my physical health: inflammation, cardiovascular health, and reproductive health.

Jenna Diggs was incredible during our birth experience. I appreciated her humor, wisdom, and encouragement through one of the most intense days of my life. Allison was our nurse when we arrived to the hospital, she made us comfortable and offered amazing help and comfort through the most intense part of my labor. She was gentle and so hands on in helping my husband be a support for me. Chelsea, Heather, Erin, Sherri, and Angie all helped us through the first two nights and getting me established with breastfeeding. They offered to help throughout the whole process but we’re not pushy, they were direct and honest and yet so kind with their care. I cannot say enough how above and beyond these nurses went for me and my family to feel taken care of, supported and heard. They made our experience without a doubt, the best I’ve ever heard of. I wish everyone could give birth at the Ashland Birth Center.
