Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center’s cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. This prestigious national distinction is awarded to facilities that meet or exceed the quality requirements established by the commission. Only 25 percent of cancer facilities nationwide have earned this accreditation.
The Commission on Cancer establishes standards for accreditation to ensure a high-quality, multidisciplinary, and comprehensive approach to cancer care. These standards focus on cancer prevention, early diagnosis, pretreatment evaluation, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, surveillance for recurrent disease, support services, and end-of-life care. Accreditation also considers an organization’s ongoing participation in cancer research and the extent of outreach and education offered in the community.
The accreditation rating indicates how well a cancer program measures up in comparison with all accredited programs. Cancer Services at Asante Rogue Regional received five commendations for providing care over and above the standard in five different areas.
