Palliative care

The palliative care team at our Cancer Centers offers a comprehensive evaluation of a patient’s experience with cancer. This team includes a physician and social worker who work collaboratively with other members of your health care team to help coordinate and implement plans of care. 

We focus on care for the whole person, helping patients achieve the best quality of life, with or without cancer treatments. Visits are spent addressing any spiritual, psychological or social distress, in addition to providing intensive symptom management. We also spend time addressing advance directives, to help patients and their families plan for the future.

These services are available at the Mary and Dick Heimann Cancer Center in both (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and the Helen K. Spears Cancer Center in Grants Pass (Thursdays).
