The best care when the unexpected happens

You can't plan for the unexpected. But when the unexpected happens, the critical care team at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is here for you and your loved ones.

As the regional medical center of Southern Oregon and Northern California, Asante Rogue Regional provides essential, sophisticated and life saving critical care to patients in need, using advanced technology, specially trained staff and a commitment to the highest quality care.

Each unit has advanced lifesaving and life-sustaining technology.

Coronary Care Unit

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a 16-bed facility that is supported by a team of experienced nurses, case managers, clinical pharmacists and attending physicians who oversee the care and management of patients with primarily cardiac disorders. The CCU staff cares for patients with acute myocardial infarction and complications such as congestive heart failure and cardiogenic shock. The CCU houses the patients immediately after they undergo open heart surgery performed by our team of cardiothoracic surgeon for a variety of indications. We also care for many other critically ill patients suffering from severe cardiomyopathies, valvular heart diseases and life-threatening arrhythmias. The cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology and intensivist services work as a team to provide exceptional care for the patient.

Intensive Care Unit

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides specialized care for patients with all sorts of life threatening illnesses. All ICU patients require intensive monitoring around the clock.

These include patients with sepsis or septic shock, respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, patients who suffer motor vehicle accidents or other trauma, neurosurgical patients, patients with stroke, etc.

Our 15-bed ICU is staffed by Critical Care nurses who specialize in caring for the sickest of the sickest. These patients are attended to by our team of 8 board certified intensivists and 2 mid-level providers. Their comprehensive training and abilities and 24/7 intensivist coverage make Asante Rogue Regional the referral center for the patients who are too sick to be cared for at other hospitals. With the help of other specialties, and a pro-active transfer-admit-center (TAC), our ICU is proud to serve as a haven for the sickest patients in the valley and beyond.

Intermediate Care Unit

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) provides care for patients who are too ill for the general medical/medical surgical unit yet do not need an intensive level of care provide by Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Patient care services vary widely, depending on each individual's specific needs.

Our IMCU is a 12-bed unit where patients with acute pulmonary, medical, surgical and cardiac conditions receive treatment and excellent care by registered nurses certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. In addition, professionals from varied disciplines add support whenever needed in the area of nutrition, pharmacy, rehabilitation and care coordination.
